Los Angeles, CA October 25, 2016 – My Yacht® Group (MYG) returned to the Lone Star State for a fifth consecutive year with it’s custom-created My Yacht® Club during the 2016 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix™ race weekend.
Notable attendees included Hollywood actor Gerard Butler (“London Has Fallen”, “300”), who interviewed the top 3 finishers on the podium after Sunday’s race; Sahara Force India F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg; Sauber F1 driver Marcus Ericsson; 2016 Indianapolis 500 Champion and 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series Rookie of the Year Alexander Rossi; former Ferrari F1 driver Stefan Johansson; film maker Mark Stewart (“The Last Man on the Moon”) and son of 3-time World Champion Sir Jackie Stewart; producer and activist Kweku Mandela, grandson of Nelson Mandela; and NFL star Quarterback and Davey O’Brien Award-winner Vince Young.
In conjunction with partner Blu, the sophisticated Monaco-style nightlife experience welcomed guests over 3 busy nights at it’s pop-up downtown Austin location. Friday evening saw a full program of entertainment beginning with the Full Tilt Fashion Show, hosted by Holly-Mills Gardner, while three DJs each night, including Chicken George, DJ Bigface, Go Go Garcia, and DJ Jake Brice, kept the dance floor full until 4am.
Club partners included Deep Eddy Vodka, Comte de Mazeray, Heineken, and more. A portion of proceeds from the weekend benefitted chosen charity partner Breast Cancer Resource Center.
The 5th running of the Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas saw Mercedes AMG Petronas driver Lewis Hamilton taking the checkered flag in Austin for a 4th time, ahead of team mate Nico Rosberg, with Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo in third.
