Miami, May 10, 2023 – My Yacht® Group (MYG) returned to The Sunshine State during the 3rd Formula 1® Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix to host a signature yacht reception on Saturday evening, following another in its curated ‘night before’ dinner series, and showcasing some impressive partners.
Friday evening saw an incredible selection of local, national, and international (U)HNWs and HNWI gather for a private dinner in South Beach, where guests were met by a 12-foot scale model of ULYSSIA. The all-new, 1,050ft (320m) luxury residence superyacht has been envisioned by Frank Binder, designed by Espen Øino and will be constructed by Meyer Werft. It comprises 132 exceptional residences and 22 guest suites, complemented by exquisite five-star amenities including 5 restaurants, a 10,000 sq. f.t., spa, medical facilities, a marina, 2 helicopters, 2 submarines, and more.
Richard Humphrey, CEO and co-founder of Radian Aerospace, addressed the room and gave updates on Radian One, the world’s first crewed, single-stage to orbit (SSTO) vehicle with runway-like takeoff and landing. The fully reusable, aircraft-like configuration requires far less infrastructure than vertical launch systems and can be reflown within 48 hours.
Radian’s system makes spaceflight affordable & routine, expanding access to space & unlocking the next generation of missions beneficial to humanity – such as scientific research, in-space manufacturing, & terrestrial observation. “Spaceflight with the ease of airflight”.
The following evening dinner guests, F1 aficionados, supercar and superyacht owners gathered aboard Dr. Jonathan Rothberg’s 182-ft research vessel Gene Chaser for My Yacht’s traditional pre-GP reception.
Gene Chaser, the support vessel for ‘mother ship’ M/Y Gene Machine features a working research laboratory for many of the companies being shepherded by 4Catalyzer. Founded by Dr. Rothberg, the biotech startup accelerator has launched Butterfly Network (NYSE: BFLY), Quantum-Si (NASDAQ: QSI), Hyperfine and Liminal Sciences (NASDAQ: HYPR), Detect, Al Therapeutics, Tesseract, and Protein Evolution, all companies that are transforming 21st century medicine and improving our planet by solving today’s most challenging problems across life. Guests were able to experience the interactive machines aboard including a brain MRI, retinal scanner, and more.
The 12-foot scale model of ULYSSIA was displayed aboard, Gene Chaser’s crane proving extremely deft at maneuvering it into position, and later providing the perfect hoist for multiple performances by Adrianna, the talented silks aerialist who, after twirling to the beats of DJ Mischa, dropped into the warm Miami waters as her finale! Exquisite catering by Chef Segreto, plus custom Enchanted Rock Vodka cocktails from the “Gene & Tonic” bar, kept the party going late into the night.
