Monaco, September 30, 2022 – My Yacht® Group (MYG) returned to the Principality of Monaco during the annual yacht extravaganza to host another in its Axiom Space Astronaut Dinner series with a gathering of (U)HNW guests aboard 61m / 200ft M/Y VOYAGER. Guest of honor, Commander Michael Lopez-Alegría (MLA) regaled guests with tales of his most recent trip off the planet, at the helm of Ax-1, the historic and first, all-private mission to the International Space Station (ISS).

MLA shared details of the 17-day mission (extended due to an on-Earth, weather-related delay) that saw him take three private astronauts on the world’s first private mission to the ISS, launching on a flight-proven SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket aboard Crew Dragon Endeavor, some 15 years after his last mission to Low Earth Orbit.

Additionally, NASA has selected Axiom Space for a second private astronaut mission to the ISS, with Ax-2 targeted to launch in spring 2023 with revered astronaut Peggy Whitson in command.

Home to the curated (U)HNW dinner was 61m / 200ft M/Y Voyager. Built by Astilleros y Talleres Celaya S.A. in 1973, with an extensive 2020 refit, the classic steel-hulled, go-anywhere yacht accommodates 22 guests in 10+1 cabins including an Owner’s suite, 2 VIP, 4 Double, and 2 Twin cabins. With plenty space in which to relax, highlighted by lots of light and wood throughout, the yacht’s features include an 8,000 NM range, a Canadian Coast Guard certified helipad, and a plethora of water toys. Available for private charter. Contact My Yacht Group for more info.
