Monaco, June 1, 2022 – My Yacht® Group (MYG) returned to the Principality of Monaco to host its 15th My Yacht Monaco on a 52m trackside superyacht at Formula 1’s most famous race that saw a record-breaking number of fans attending ‘the race every driver wants to win’.

Following last year’s scaled-back GP, 2022’s 79th Monaco Grand Prix was full-on and sold out. Whether it’s the ‘Netflix Effect’ of the popular “Drive to Survive” series, or just a desire to put the last 2.5 years of lockdowns firmly in the past, the tiny Principality was full to the brim, with nary a hotel room to be found many months before the race weekend that saw a traditional Friday-Saturday-Sunday running of events, following a tight turnaround from the previous weekend’s Barcelona GP.

Celebrating 15 years at their traditional charity reception on Friday evening, My Yacht’s Annabelle and Nicholas Frankl welcomed guest of honor HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, who graciously mingled with the distinguished guests aboard that included superyacht owners, heads of industry, Olympians, and more. The evening, and weekend, raised awareness for the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the global non-profit organization founded in 2006 and committed to progressing Planetary Health for present and future generations.

(U)HNW guests from Monaco, the USA, and beyond enjoyed a lively evening of entertainment from strolling band / international sensation Odd Socks International, while incredible foods were paired with delectable wines. Longtime partner Château d’Esclans poured a selection of its rosé wines throughout the race weekend including award-winner Garrus, Rock Angel, worldwide sensation Whispering Angel, plus the new The Pale. And MYG continued its partnership with 100% Grand Cru Champagne Régi, pouring it’s Blanc de Blancs and Extra Brut.

With superyacht’s stacked in multiple rows inside Port Hercules (Note: a Zone 1 berth does not mean you’re on the track…), plus many yachts at anchor in the bay beyond, boat traffic was busier than ever. Cutting through the pack were My Yacht’s super-fast X-Tenders. The lightweight custom carbon superyacht tenders utilize Formula 1 technology and are the go-to ribs, beachlanders, and limousine tenders of some of the world’s greatest yachts. Guests were whisked from the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel directly to My Yacht’s trackside berth directly under the giant screen, that afforded views of the tunnel exit, chicane, and straightaway, the perfect vantage for unrivalled views from which to witness all of the racing action and hijinks.

Torrential downpours 1 minute before lights out saw the start of Sunday’s race delayed, started under red flag, stopped and restarted, while a major crash from Mick Schumacher, pit incidents, and more finally saw Redbull’s Sergio Perez take the checkered flag ahead of Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, with Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen in third.

My Yacht Group’s upcoming events include another (U)HNW business investor summit in Monaco during the annual yacht show (Sept 28-Oct 1), and the 11th My Yacht Club at the #USGP in Austin (Oct 20-23)
