Soon-to-be 5-time astronaut Commander Michael Lopez-Alegría addressed the group, on a break from final training for his historic launch at the helm of Ax-1.
Slated for March 31, 2022, he will lead three private astronauts on the world’s first 10-day private mission to the ISS, launching on a flight-proven SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket aboard Crew Dragon Endeavor.
Additionally, NASA has selected Axiom Space for the second private astronaut mission to the ISS, with Ax-2 targeted to launch between fall 2022 & late spring 2023.
