Monaco, June 1, 2024 – My Yacht® Group (MYG) returned to the Principality of Monaco to host its 17th My Yacht Monaco a 52m trackside superyacht moored in a prime position on the Quay Kennedy straightaway.
MYG began the weekend with a curated dinner at the exclusive Yacht Club de Monaco, designed by renowned architect Sir Norman Foster and which itself resembles a yacht.
With roads closed, access to the yacht for Friday practice – and throughout the weekend – was only possible from the water, and super-fast X-Tenders, the lightweight custom carbon superyacht tenders that utilize Formula 1 technology, ensured swift transfers between shore and superyacht.
Friday evening saw My Yacht’s Annabelle and Nicholas Frankl welcoming guests to the 17th annual Friday evening charity reception, including guest of honor HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, who graciously mingled with the distinguished mix of Royalty, Lords, Ladies, superyacht owners, global business icons, Olympians, and more.
Ensuring a convivial party atmosphere, large format bottles of Whispering and Rock Angel, magnums of 100% Grand Cru Régi Champagne, plus vintage Camus cognac flowed throughout, accompanying exquisite catering by Monaco’s own Société des Bains de Mers, and ameliorated by Numero Uno Caviar served on mother of pearl spoons, while guest-favorite The Odd Sox International, the Côte d’Azur’s #1 strolling band, kept the tunes – and energy! – going late into the night.
After a busy Saturday of F1 qualifying, guests were hosted at a private villa reception that showcased new state-of-the-art residential superyacht, ULYSSIA, that’s set to become the most exclusive residential community at sea. A 320-metre (1,050-foot) masterpiece envisioned by Frank Binder, designed by Espen Øino and constructed by Meyer Werft, ULYSSIA comprises 132 exceptional residences and 22 guest suites, complemented by exquisite five-star amenities.
With superyachts stacked in multiple rows inside Port Hercules (Note: a Zone 1 berth does not mean you’re on the track…), plus many yachts at anchor in the bay beyond, weekend guests enjoyed incredible views from the 43m tri-deck superyacht moored trackside on the famous Quay Kennedy that afforded views of the tunnel exit, chicane, straightaway, and Tabac corner, the perfect up close vantage from which to witness all of the racing action.
In grand Monaco tradition, following a thrilling race that saw homegrown hero Charles Leclerc, driving for Scuderia Ferrari, take the checkered flag (with many tears shed by the elated Monegasque community), Sunday evening ended at world renowned Jimmy’z with DJ Black Coffee and race winner Leclerc celebrating at the next table!
MYG’s 18th My Yacht Monaco will take place at the 82nd Monaco Grand Prix, May 23 – 25, 2025.
